"The Best" is a compilation album hosted by Sonic4 with the same premise as "STALE04: It's Your Record!", where everyone was allowed to submit anything they wanted without rules. The submissions were planned to stay open until the 24th, but due to Sonic4's mental instability and the majority of people "dumping" music, the project only lasted a day with seventy tracks.

Both Alice98 and Yukari-sama have tried saving the project in desperation, but Sonic4 had a sudden change of mind and decided to compile and rearrange the remaining submissons to make a better tracklist, and therefore, a better album.

"The story behind this album is very chaotic. At the time, we were all feeling horrible but I still wanted to take on this project in an attempt to cheer people up. It only lasted a single day because people kept dumping songs and the album sounded horrible. You can also blame my mood swings and mental breakdowns for killing off the project early. I'm so sorry for that. Though, I've managed to find the courage last second to arrange a good compilation album. I'm so proud of everyone who submitted good songs, I love this album, and I love all of y'all. I don't love myself though."
